Although Peter Weir never equalled the quality of his sophomore effort Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975), his filmography, which includes films like The Years of Living Dangerously (1982), Witness (1985), Green Card (1990) or The Truman Show (1998), is interesting enough to pay attention to anything he does.
His upcoming new film, The Way Back, tells the real story of a group of prisoners who escaped from a Siberian gulag during WWII. The cast includes Ed Harris (one of the finest veteran actors in Hollywood) and Saoirse Ronan (maybe the most appealing young actress right now). Two good reasons to keep an eye on it.
The trailer is finally available.

Although I hate Jim Carrey with all my might, I really enjoyed the 'Truman Show', also with Ed Harris. Looking forward to this!
