The 2010 National Board of Review Awards have been announced. I'll post soon an analysis of the results in Imitation of Life. Until then, here is the complete list of winners. You can compare it against my predictions, which are available in the previous entry of the blog.
Just one comment. Lesley Manville and Jacki Weaver have been named best actress and supporting actress, respectively. Does it get any better?

Veo que entre las mejores películas independientes aparece Let Me In, el remake de la sueca Låt den rätte komma in estrenada hace sólo dos años. No sé si has visto una o la otra, las dos o ninguna. Si las has visto, puedes comentar qué te parecen? Todos los comentarios que leo sobre el remake dicen que se trata de una buena película pero la pregunta es, era necesaria?

Solo he visto la versiòn sueca, que me parece estupenda. He oìdo cosas muy buenas del remake americano, incluso que supera a la original porque recoge un tema central de la novela que la primera versiòn ignoraba o trataba solo de pasada.
Desconozco la novela y, como no he visto la pelìcula americana, no sé de qué tema central se trata.
En cualquier caso, una pelìcula puede ser perfecta y traicionar el original literario al mismo tiempo. Ese es el caso de Let the Right One In, si es que realmente en ella se traiciona el espìritu de la novela como afirman algunos.
Desde el punto de vista artìstico, volver a rodar una pelìcula perfecta (aunque sea en otro idioma) es innecesario; para su distribuciòn en Estados Unidos, me imagino que es lògico.
Tengo ganas de verla, pero dudo que pueda ser superior a la primera.
